Pilobolus is a unique American arts organization of international influence, having created one of the most popular and varied bodies of work in the history of dance. Pilobolus is renowned for its demonstration of a collaborative choreographic process and unique weight-sharing approach to partnering. Their performances have long been characterized by a strong element of physical interaction between the bodies of the performers, and exaggerations or contortions of the human form (or other anthropomorphic forms), often verging on gymnastics.

“An endless series of unfolding surprises, as one dancer folds into another, as one lifts and embraces another, as arms and legs merge to the point where the mind accepts that a dance can, in fact, have four or six of each limb.”
