Newman Center Presents favorite Aspen Santa Fe Ballet returns to kick off our Tenth season of Celebration! Nationally renowned as an eclectic, innovative dance company with a solid foundation in classical ballet, Aspen Santa Fe Ballet has made a lasting impression with a company of ten versatile, energetic dancers performing a sophisticated repertoire featuring some of the world’s foremost choreographers.
The Capitol Steps began in 1981 as a group of U.S. Senate staffers who set out to satirize the very people who employed them. In the years that have followed, having bit the hands that fed them, many of the Steps also ignored the conventional wisdom not to quit their day jobs. The ensemble now tours the U.S. delivering heaping portions of much-needed good humor to the long-suffering American public as the best antidote to politics. Taken together the performers have given over 3,000 shows, and they’re funny, very funny!
